@school stellt ein Programm dar, dass Kinder / Jugendliche auf den Umgang mit Social Networks (Facebook, SchülerVZ, MySpace, etc…) vorbereiten und über Nutzen und Gefahren informieren soll. Da das Internet in der heutigen Zeit zum alltäglichen Gebrauch gehört, ist es wichtig sich darin gewissenhaft bewegen zu können. Da ich selbst eine kleine Schwester habe, weiß ich, wie wichtig die richtige Aufklärung im Umgang mit den neuen Medien ist und das Verbote hier, wie in allen anderen Bereichen des  Lebens, oft nur das Gegenteil bewirken. Darum ist gezielte Aufklärung als Grundlage des Vertrauens in den sorgenfreien Umgang mit dem Internet und sozialen Netzwerken nötig. Since Social Media (Networks like Facebook, StudiVz, MeinVz, etc.) become an important part of everyday life it is important to teach our youngest about how to use them properly. Even more important is to explain what dangers can come with social media and what can happen when one spents to much time online.

Having a little sister myself I consider it as pretty important to talk about all those dangers – but even though about all the good stuff that comes with social media – its not everything evil!

So if you are a teacher, principal or something similar and find yourself in the need to tell your pupils (obviously different ages need different approaches) something about social media – do not hesitate to get in touch at any time. I’m looking forward to it!
